Otherwise, if there are no alternatives, why say no to even the temporary arrival of a regasification vessel? Why not position it in an area that doesn't compromise the port's role? Solutions must be sustainable not only environmentally, but also economically, if we don't want to miss out on opportunities, alienate investors, and reinforce Taranto's image as anti-industry.

Meanwhile, the initial phase can be fueled by gas already arriving at the plant. The MIMIT technical committee also states this when it states that the AdI site is connected to the national gas grid with a total capacity of approximately 2 billion cubic meters per year, sufficient to cover the existing production cycle and part of Phase 1 of both options. Phase 1 is scheduled for 2029 and, for Scenario A, involves two blast furnaces, one electric furnace, and two DRI and CO2 capture and storage plants, while for Scenario B, two blast furnaces and one electric furnace. Therefore, we are examining and addressing the gas issue gradually.

Decarbonization has been called for for years to reduce polluting emissions. Now that it's being put into action, the conditions for its implementation are being hindered. But isn't the real goal to shut down the steelworks?

Let's look at reality and if there are prejudices, it is right that they are eliminated.

We need guarantees from the state regarding resources. We will reiterate this to Urso on the 12th. One billion euros from the FSC is available for a DRI, but since more than one billion will be needed here, will the state provide it? We need to ensure this. Another thing is that local businesses are involved. We are requesting a site agreement to involve Taranto's supply chain and that a reward be given to those who commit to using these businesses. Furthermore, we are asking that the tender include a bonus point for environmental regeneration projects involving the areas adjacent to the plant so that the impact, including visual impact, is mitigated.
